Group
Therapy

Group therapy is a well-researched treatment option that has many benefits for those that share a similar experience. Group therapy gives group participants the opportunity to support others while simultaneously receiving support. In group therapy, participants can develop friendships with others who truly understand them and provides a safe space for everyone to express themselves. For participants that struggle with social interactions and conversations, group therapy has the added benefit of exposure to social situations in a low-stress and therapeutic setting.

The goal of therapy is to:

  • Help participants identify maladaptive behaviors

  • Provide support with emotional difficulties through positive feedback

  • Offer participants a supportive environment of peers with a similar life experience

  • Reduce feelings of loneliness and alienation by bringing together individuals with shared experiences and emotional patterns
